  • QB Link Export Issue with Quickbooks 2013 & Quickbooks 2014

Late last month, Intuit released a series of updates to several of the most recent editions of Quickbooks (2013 and 2014). One of these updates introduced a glitch into their SDK (the component that our QB Link uses to talk to the QB Company File). This glitch causes payouts to be imported without using the payout number as the quickbooks reference number for the transaction. While the check number still shows up in the Memo field of the transaction, the fact that the check number no longer shows up as the reference number makes reconciling much more difficult.

While Intuit has acknowledged that this is indeed a bug, they have not yet fixed it, nor have they gave any indication as to when they will fix it.

We are currently working on an update to the Quickbooks link that incorporates a newer version of the Quickbooks SDK, and thus circumvents the issue. We've completed our internal testing of this update, and have begun to deploy it on a per-request basis to those who have already updated their Quickbooks installations and have encountered this issue. Once we are satisfied that the new QB is ready for open deployment, we will make it available via

It's worth mentioning that the new QB Link will only work for those on Liberty 4 version 3.7a or newer.

We now have a patch that has been tested by several stores and we are able to release it to everyone needing it. Here is the link to download it.
