Emergency Hours

Due to the increase in call volume during our normal business hours because of the Covid-19 Pandemic, Saturday and Sunday support was temporarily closed. Technicians were re-allocated to assist with the calls coming in during normal hours.

We are re-opening Saturday Emergency Support on August 8th, 2020, with Sunday Emergency Support to follow on a later date.

Please check back on for any changes in this announcement.

My apologies if this is a duplicate post -- we lost network connectivity at just about the same time I submitted this earlier this morning.

My client is having problems with a computer that can't run the LFW software anymore. It was working fine yesterday, but they're unable to articulate how or when the trouble began. The symptoms are as follows:

    Launch LFW
Error appears saying "it appears that LFW was not properly shut down, etc., etc."

Next error -- Btrieve status 3012 - Local engine is not accessible to the microkernel router. Key=[c:\lfw20\train\file.ddf] DBI Error code = BDE error 3012

Next error is LFW error -- problem with password file

Last error Exception EDBEngine error in module LFW.exe at 000540C4 Btrieve Status 3012
    Program shuts down.

Tried rebooting the client. Tried rebooting the server. All other clients can connect to the data on NT Server (mapped f drive)

I completely uninstalled LFW and Pervasive software and installed both again. The same error appeared the first time the LFW software was run.

I noticed that there is a key in the registry \HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\titan\btrieve\aliases \dpath=c:\lfw20\train\ but on the other machines it is f:\lfw20\data.

I tried changing this, but it seems to be reset each time the software is loaded.

Has anyone seen this problem and know how to fix it?

    Thanks very much,

    Nancy Capitanio
