Product Lines

To set up a product lines select Tools>Category Editor> then in the editor Product Lines.

In product lines select "Add Product Line". Now you can title your product line and set your tax type.

For my example I will name my product line "Discounted Tax" and I will select my tax type and select OK

Now under my list of product lines I see my new product line of Discount Tax.

Next we need to add our category to the product line. Select the Categories tab at the top of the category editor screen. For this example I want to add Women's Apparel to my new product line so I double click Women's Apparel to edit the category. In the product line field use the drop down arrow and select "Discount Tax" and select OK. Now anything in the women's apparel category will have my discount tax rate applied to it.
