Liberty offers a GREAT feature that will save stores a LOT of time - Report Favorites.

A Favorite is just like a Favorite in AOL, or a Bookmark in your Internet browser. A Favorite allows you to save a report with specific Criteria options, making it easy to recall the report at a future date. The benefits of using Report Favorites are:

- Save one report (e.g. Sales Detail) with many different names - e.g. All Sales for 2009, All Sales for 1st Quarter 2009, etc.

- Reports that are less frequently used (e.g. the ones you use around tax time) can be saved with the exact settings you used last year.

- Build reports for employees to run, making it very easy for an employee to get information they are allowed access to, without having to adjust settings, etc.

- Favorited reports can be accessed without having to launch the Reports Module!

How do I make a Report Favorite? Great question!

1. Select any report + any Criteria you would like to save. e.g. If you run the Sales Detail report daily, click End of Day > Sales Detail and set the Sale/Posted Date to Today. You'll notice the Favorite heart is broken...

2. Click the Favorite icon and provide a name for your report. You can also group your reports together - e.g. all sales reports are saved to the Sales Reports group...

You can see I am creating my Daily Sales Report in the Sales Reports group.

3. Click OK and you'll see the heart is broken no more AND the Sales Detail report now shows the name you saved it as...

That's it! You're done! You've just saved your first report! Wasn't that easy!?

Ok, so how do I use a Favorite Report? Also a great question!

You can close the Reports Module altogether and get to your Favorite Reports from Liberty. Just click Reports in the menu at the top...

...and you'll see the reports you saved as Favorites!!!

If we look even closer, we see our Sales Reports group and our Daily Sales report as well!

Our reports module is smart enough to always know what "Today" is, so each day you run it, it figures out the actual date for "Today"!!!

Of course, we also made the reports module flexible enough that you can change the date on the fly, should you need to.

To recap:

- Click the broken heart to make a report a Favorite
- Keep reports organized (e.g. Inventory Reports, Sales Reports, etc.) by using the Create In option
- Access Favorite Reports directly from Liberty, under the Reports menu
