Note: You must have user accounts set up before creating Application Security Levels. Please click on the following post if you have not created user accounts: How to Create Liberty Users

Lets first go over why you would want to set up Application Security Levels. As a store owner you will have employees who work for you that you might not want to give the ability to change certain things within Liberty. By creating these security levels its give you full control of what you allow your employees to do. I can't stress the enough the importance of this feature as allowing employees to have access to everything can do more harm than good.

***IMPORTANT*** - You must set at least one of your accounts as a Level 10 before configuring Application Security Levels

You can set Application Security Levels by following the steps below:

Click Tools > Security > Application Security Levels

If you place the number 10 in the Level field you are allowing ONLY users who are set to level 10 to have access to that task.

Example: You might not want all users to have access to Change Account #s, to prevent those users from having this ability, place the number 10 in the Level field.

Note: If a user is set to level 5, that user will have access to everything set from 0 thru 5, anything with a level of 6 thru 10 that user would NOT be able to access.

Some things Resaleworld recommends only allowing level 10 access to:

Change Account Numbers
Deleting Payouts
Voiding Sales
Report Security Levels
Security/Components
Security/Users

You may have some Trusted Employees that you want to give more access to than others, but not EVERYTHING. Resaleworld recommends:

Tools > Options
Tools > Price Codes
Tax Codes
