Most competing software packages will offer the capability of exporting your data into a .CSV file (Comma Separated Value) file. Resaleworld.com is now providing two utilities for importing your client and inventory data that may have been exported into a .CSV file.

Client Import Utility - This utility can import accounts from other programs/databases. As long as the data is in .CSV (Comma-Separated) format, our utility can import accounts into a Liberty database.

Your .CSV file must be formatted in the following order:

Account #, First Name, Last Name, Address1, Address2, City, State, Zip Code, Phone #, Email Address

The following link contains a sample of how your .CSV file should be formatted.

Click on the following link to download the Client Import utility. http://rswpartner.com/download/exes/ClientImportUtil.exeonce the file has completed downloading double click on the following icon to launch.

You can now browse for your .CSV file. Once you have located your file you must click the Open button.

You will have the option to choose to view a preview. Once you click on the preview button a brief description will appear. This can be used to validate the data to ensure the proper formatting has been used.

Note: Please review the two check box options as well if your .CSV file contains a header row or if the first and last name are contained within the same column.

Click the Import button to continue. A prompt will appear with a message that reads Please Wait. You will then be prompted for your Liberty user name and password.

As of July 1st last year, new versions of Liberty began using encrypted passwords for increased security. The old import utilities aren't able to log in to the database - we had to release a new version of the import utilities that are able to handle the new password security. The downloads linked in the original post on this thread will only be able to work on versions 3.6b and earlier. If you have version 3.7a or newer, please use the newer utilities.
