Change Price Codes

Customer would like to change their consignment period (lower the pickup/expire options) going forward, but any current items need to stay how they are.

Here are the steps outlined:
- Make a new price code, mimicking the current consignment price code
- Do a bulk Item price code change to use the new price code
- Edit the old consignment price code with the new options

Details:
Step 1: Make a new price code and mimic the current consignment price code

We will start by going to Tools >> Price Codes...

Now add a new price code, click the Add button in the top left corner. Call this one something like, items before Aug 13th (or something so you know that the code is old).

All of the settings in here will mimic your normal price code.

In my case, i have a special Consignment Split and Pickup/Expire Options
Old:

New:

Step 2: Do a bulk Item price code change to use the new price code

Now we will update all current items using the old price code to use the new price code.

To do a bulk price code change, go to Activities >> Inventory >> Change Item Price Codes...

Since we want to change all current items using Price Code H (the old one) to Price Code I; we want to use the following options:

This will change the price code for all items currently using H to I.

Step 3: Edit the old consignment price code with the new options

Now that all current items are using the new price code, we want to change the old one to use the new consignment period.

Go back to Tools >> Price Codes...

You can change any of the options you need for your new consignment period. In this case, I will only change the Pickup/Expire Options.

Now, going forward; consignor items will use the old price code (which has been modified). The reason for doing it this way, it is easier to change the current item price codes (bulk change) rather than changing all accounts to use the new price code going forward. For that you would have to change each account individually and thus would take longer.
