There is currently an issue with the L4C, where you cannot backup to the C:\RWD\BACKUP folder. This has been submitted to development, but in the meantime; you will need to change the directory where you store your backups to.

<img src="http://resaleworld.com/videos/jason/2009-08-04_1058.png">

When doing a backup, either at the end of the day when it prompts or by going to Tools >> Maintain >> Backup Database... you will get the following error.

<img src="http://resaleworld.com/videos/jason/2009-08-04_1100.png">

In looking at the error log, you will see the following error message:

<img src="http://resaleworld.com/videos/jason/2009-08-04_1105_001.png">

To resolve this, just change the backup path to another directory. If you see that error message for a different directory, then first try changing to another new directory. The software may for some reason be unable to copy the backup file to the specified directory due to permissions.

This also brings up another point to make. You really should not save your backups to the same drive that Liberty resides on. If there is a catastrophic failure to the hard drive, you may lose all of your data. We recommend that you backup at least to another drive, even better would be an external drive that you can take home with you, such as a thumb drive. This way if there is a fire or some other type of extreme damage in your store, all your data is not lost.

We also sell a pack of 3 Flash Drives at our online store that comes with our Backup Utility already installed on it.

See the following link for more details.

This is a new security issue beginning to effect customers. To all reading this thread, this is NOT caused by any of our latest updates. It seems that certain Anti-virus programs recently updated are picking up on our backup application named RWDBACK.exe as a potential virus and removing it. The program is required in order to run backups from your Liberty software. To correct this issue, please click on the following link and download a replacement file for your Liberty backup program.

http://rswpartner.com/download/exes/rwdback.exe

Please save the file named RWDBACK.exe to the following location on your system C:\RWD.

This will allow you to begin performing backups once again. To prevent this from happening again, please read the help section provided by your Anti-Virus security program to learn more about adding exception(s) to your virus scans. We highly recommend you include all executable programs within the RWD folder located on the local drive C:\ to your exception list. Please
consult with your local technician if you are unsure on how to configure your Anti-Virus security program(s). We do offer support for configuring security applications that are NOT covered under a Support Plan for a fee. Please review our price list below which is found on the http://resaleworld.com website under the Support tab.
