We have taken the 3.5c update. All's well until tonight. Inventory Module indicatex 3.5c; Reports indicates 3.5a. When running Account List/Full Detail with parameters All (accounts), "Have Consigned", and Filter Code of "July", after the report is generated, it hangs and cannot be arrowed through under Preview. Windows Task Manager indicates 4 tasks not responding (would have expected only 2): Account List - Full Detail (2) and Liberty Reports (2). Obtained same behavior with Account List - Filter Code.
Suggestions
We do see this sort of thing happen with customers sometimes. In most cases in can be a resource issue with the system your running the report on. Keep in mind, that when running large reports across a large database involves the database to search through thousands of records. The broader the filters the more load your putting on the system to query the results. Not all systems can handle such large database requests. The results could be reports module locking up, freezes after x amount pages, or reports module crashes.
Try running the same reports on another computer at the store or at your home office. Be sure to keep the system processes in (Task Manager) to a minimum of at least 30 - 40 processes when running reports. I highly recommend having at least 3 gigs or more of RAM if you plan on running large reports. Requesting allot of data from a database requires the right hardware that can handle such requests.
