Does this the store keeps the $5 still, or is it giving it back to the customer.

Yes, in this case the store would keep the $5.

If a customer Put 3 items on layaway (say three couches), and put down $100, and the total is $300 + Tax, they come in next week and only want 2 couches, we are currently taking payments for the two couches, and for the remaining amount for the third couch we press payment type forfeit layaway. We then have to 'refund' the item that they forfeitted, we use the forfeit layaway payment to retun it.
Is there anything wrong with doing it liek this?>

Thanks so much to all of you in Tech support! You are awesome!!!

Should Liberty not allow 'voiding' of a layaway just like it doesnt allow voiding of a sale with a Return?

Found an issue?
When a customer is on a rewards program and you 'forfeit the layaway' it gives them points.
Can they integrate a built in forfeit procedure like they did for cancel a suspended sale?
Thanks!
