For stores that allow a customer to refund a item that was purchased with a coupon.
If you are using the default coupon supplied with the software:
In the POS/Point-of-Sale, click on the refund button and enter the account - item number then type the enter key. The item details should now appear. Now click on the coupon button and enter a negative flat rate coupon amount applied to the original sale. For example, if the coupon was a 5.00 off coupon then enter -5.00 in the amount field (the same field you entered the account - item #) then type the enter key.
In most cases multiple coupons have already been created using the Maintain Coupons feature. If this is the case, when you click on the coupon button, specify which coupon the customer used with their purchase. You will be able to select the exact coupon type from the dialog that appears. This will now apply the coupon deduction to the refund amount.
I hope this helps!
