View Full Version : Would you consider "online" classes?

As Resaleworld mentioned in their last newsletter it's very hard for people to get down to Florida for training. I am a "one gal" operation so it is nearly impossible on my end so I'm thinking that there are others in my position.
Would you consider offering some of these classes via online video for a fee? I believe it would be well received and very beneficial to your clients.
Thank You,

You must be reading our minds! :) Ever since we moved into our new facility (which we have our own training room in), we have discussed "remote" training. In addition to this, we are already including training videos in our all new Help System (due out in June). You may have seen some "tester" videos posted here and there on the Message Board and in email replies.
I'll leave it at that for now, but a combo of "screencast" training videos + live training videos is in the works. We know that not everyone can make it down here - that doesn't mean you should be able to receive training!
We also offer per-hour training ($100/hr) over the phone. We can "take over" your computer and instruct you via phone. This is handy since you can grab a few employees to sit in - more bang for your buck. We can also target the training specifically to you. Maybe you've already been using Liberty for a while and you just need assistance with "speed tips", payouts and reports. Within 1-2 hours of training, you could get all you needed, tailored just for your store!
Let us know if this helps!

I often think how I'd like to use my software more efficiently -- and how maybe I should sign up for a training...then I think I'm going to call about it when I'm going to Florida for R&R...why not tack a day on the end of vacation. I never do!
I always appreciate the notes that accompany updates. But if I wanted a "video" or "Play-by-play" of anything, it would be these changes (the major changes - not the "fixed-its") I know the last update involved some major changes with rewards and word processing. I admit, I've been so busy and short-staffed that I've done nothing to learn or take advantage of the enhancements -- I just skimmed the notes. If there was "pictures" that I could watch and/or follow along with, it would help. Even a tutorial of some sort...
Thanks...just thinking out loud!

We'll be using videos for this as well! We had full, step-by-steps (with screen shots) when Rewards Plans were first released. Those legacy Release Notes pages are still available...

So you're right on point Christine! I knew it would be best to include screen shots for new features and started doing so way back. We've moved to the new My Resaleworld customer portal that we developed and it will take a little bit to get everything moved over.
Videos are really the way to go for "how to's" though. If you see someone do it once, it seems to make immediate sense. Reading through text, comparing screen shots, et al, can be a pain in the $&#*$ sometimes. :)

My original post was in May when you were thinking about offering some video or online classes. How's that coming along and will we be able to see some remote classes soon?
Thanks!
Michelle
