Why suddenly are my windows essentially too large for my screen, i.e. the "close" button is hidden & up/down arrow is hidden...I have to drag screen around to find it, resize by using maximize and minimize buttons, but next time I turn machine, it's back to the problem again. Help!

Sorry to hear you're running into problems! It looks like you are on Liberty4 Consignment. Which windows are you referring to specifically? The Account Detail? The Inventory Detail?

All of the Windows in Liberty can be re-sized. These are "sticky" too in that, when you close out of Liberty, it will try to remember those window sizes so they are the same next time.

If after maximizing/minimizing, the windows are not where you would like them, it sounds as though a setting within your Windows Registry could be "corrupted." Not rebooting your computer often, as well as other things, can lead to this.

To resolve this, you will need to enter your Windows Registry. PLEASE USE CAUTION when in the Windows Registry. I don't mean to scare anyone, but if you delete the wrong thing, it could have a very negative impact on your system.

Here are the steps to follow:

1. Click Start
2. Click Run
3. Type regedit and then click "Ok"
4. Click the little plus + sign next to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
5. Click the little plus + sign next to Software
6. Click the little plus + sign next to Resaleworld.com
7. Click the little plus + sign next to RWD

You should now see a series of folders underneath RWD. The two we are looking for are "Forms" and another one named "Grids." Here is what my Registry looks like:

<img src="http://rswpartner.com/download/mb/images/registry.jpg"/>

Notice the "Forms" and "Grids" folders beneath RWD? We want to delete those two folders. First, right-click on "Forms" and choose "Delete." When asked "Are you sure you want to delete this key and all of its subkeys?", choose "Yes." Do the same for the "Grids" folder as well.

That's it! Just close the Registry Editor and restart the Liberty application. All of your windows have been set back to the "default" setting. You should now be able to modify their sizes without any issues.

Let us know if this helps! :)

Thanks for instructions. I'll see what happens. As far as your questions...in Windows XP, the windows that are all messed up are all of them (not opening page in Liberty), but the rest of them, Inventory listing, and Account info, etc.

Are you unable to re-size your windows? Even if you delete those keys in the Registry, your windows will still be "large." If you want them smaller, you have to resize them.

Take a look at this...

<img src="http://rswpartner.com/download/mb/images/resize_01.jpg"/>

That window is so large, I will not be able to resize it. I have to first click on the "Title Bar" and then drag it down to the right a bit, before I can see the edges.

<img src="http://rswpartner.com/download/mb/images/resize_02.jpg"/>

Only then can I use the resize function within Windows to make the window a more useful size...

<img src="http://rswpartner.com/download/mb/images/resize_03.jpg"/>

Now I can drag my window wherever I want it to go! If I maximize it, it stays maximized forever. If I "restore" it (as it is above), I can resize it by "grabbing" the edges of that windows with my cursor. I can also drag it around by clicking the Title Bar and holding the mouse button while I move my cursor.

If you are still unable to resize your windows, I would suggest letting one of our technicians remote in to your system to take a look at things. Here is a helpful "tutorial" I found by searching Google for "resize a window" - http://www.mcschools.net/mcs/training/windows/windowsxp/resize.html. This explains this in a very easy manner.

When we were first testing Liberty I think I had the same thing happen to me. I don't exactly remember what happen but I know I was at my whits end with it. Then I remember the way I solved it was eventually I able to resize the window by grabbing the corner then make the window smaller then maximized it .

I know this is a poor explanation but I did solve it with the mouse rather than the register. Just another thought did you try changing the resolution of your screen ( to a higher one) then open L4c, resize then maximize?

I will try to reproduce this on my backup system later. Let mr know if you get it fixed. :eek:

If you are still experiencing this issue please perform the following:
1) Right click on the Liberty shortcut icon on your desk top
2) In the shortcut tab set the "Run:" to "Maximized"
3) Click OK
4) Open Liberty
5) Maximize all Liberty windows. This can be done by double clicking on the title bar, or clicking the maximize button (upper right of the window).
